Last September of 2017 I helped an artist group put together a large scale art show at the Pepperell Mill in Biddeford, Maine. While touring the mill, I quickly realized that there's no easy way to explore the entire campus and many mill vendors and visitors find it hard to navigate.
As a result of my research I decided to create an innovative mobile solution to the problem. Maud-ink Design along with Perch Design Studio is currently developing a truly holistic indoor mobile navigation app that utilizes the earth's magnetic field to help you pinpoint indoor locations. This concept will transform the Pepperell Mill Campus into an interactive digital destination. Milla users will be enabled to buy local products and services, find artist and historical landmarks at the MIll.
Proximity notifications will also appear on the user’s smartphone screens featuring special promo deals and mill vendor events. App users will also be able to navigate themselves directly to the vendor during open house hours. Our app will run in the background so if our app is not open the user will still receive vendor notifications when browsing or wayfinding in the Pepperell Mill Campus.
Just some of the highlights and app features to come. We are planning to launch a demo version of the mobile app in July, 2018. Sign Up HERE for updates and a free app demo download.
